Bodega Montebaco "Semele" 2020
Tempranillo / MerlotSmooth & Fresh. Red fruits & Cinnamon.
Tasting Notes
Semele 2020 from Bodega Montebaco has a cherry red colour with a ruby edge.
On the nose, at the beginning, it’s shows a lot of red fruit and as it opens up some sweet notes of spices become more apparent. There is cinnamon and cloves, but also coconut and liquorice. After a good time in your glass, you might catch some toasted notes, of coffee and cocoa, in the background.
When you take a sip, you’ll find that it’s pretty smooth and fresh with gentle tannins. It has full body and a velvety mouthfeel.
The finish is long and persistent.

Merlot
Dark blue-colored variety of wine-making grape
Merlot is a dark blue–colored wine grape variety that can be used to produce both blending and varietal wines. Merlot is thought to be a diminutive of merle, the French word for a blackbird, which is most likely a reference to the grape’s color. Merlot is a common grape for blending with the sterner, later-ripening Cabernet Sauvignon, which appears to be higher in tannin, due to its softness and “fleshiness” combined with its earlier ripening.
