Cantine San Paolo Leo "Triade" 2015
Blend of Negroamaro / Nero di Troia / Primitivo (Zinfandel)Thin, probably past it's best. Tertiary notes prevail.
Tasting Notes
The nose is slightly fainty with notes of wood box, under spirit cherries, berry marmalade and liquorice.
The 2015 Triade from Cantine San Paolo Leo is rather thin.
On the mouth I find toasted notes with hints of coffee and dark chocolate.
A bit uneventful in my opinion.

Negroamaro
Varietal
Negroamaro is a southern Italian red wine grape variety. It is almost entirely grown in Apulia, especially in Salento, the peninsula that can be considered Italy’s “heel.” Wines made from this grape can be very dark in color. Negroamaro wines have a rustic quality to them, mixing scent with an earthy bitterness. The grape produces some of Apulia’s best red wines, particularly when blended with the fragrant Malvasia Nera grape, as in Salice Salentino.
