Tasting Notes
Hgémon 2006 from Nemeion Estate has a deep ruby colour with garnet hues.
On the nose it starts austere but after two hours it starts opening up. The first notes to come to mind are deep and dark with sour cherry and cooked blackberries, liquorice and graphite. After some time the bouquet evolves and starts showing notes of underwood and mushroom. After decanting it and leaving it for few hours to breathe there is cedar wood and leather, coffee and dark chocolate.
On the mouth the wine is round with elegant, integrated tannins.
The finish is long and elegant with toasted notes of coffee and chocolate.

Agiorgitiko
Varietal
Agiorgitiko is the most planted red grape variety in Greece. This grape was traditionally grown in the Nemea region, in the Peloponnese. Now, though, it can be found in other regions including Attika (Attica) and Makedonia (Macedonia).
Agiorgitiko is a “versatile” grape that produces very different styles of wine, from light rosés to sweet wines. Yet Agiorgitiko is most associated with a red dry style of wine, either young and jolly or oak matured and aged.
