Tasting Notes
The Verrucano 2019 from Fattoria San Vito has a ruby colour with garnet hues.
On the nose it’s very lively with raspberry, strawberry and juicy red fruits. It also shows an interesting basil plus tomato sauce note, like sticking your nose on a plate of freshly dressed pasta al pomodoro!
The mouthfeel is light, a bit watery unfortunately. The tannin is gentle and well integrated and so is the freshness of this wine. Notes of red fruits can be found on the palate too. The finish is short.
It’s a fair daily, unpretentious and pleasant wine.

Sangiovese is a red Italian wine grape variety named after the Latin sanguis Jovis, which means “Jupiter’s blood.” Though it is native to most of central Italy, from Romagna to Lazio, Campania, and Sicily, it is best known outside of Italy as the sole component of Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino, as well as the primary component of the blends Chianti, Carmignano, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, and Morellino di Scansano, though it can also be used to make varietal wines like Sangiovese di Romagna
